You will familiarise yourself with many different areas during your apprenticeship with us. So that you know what to expect right from the start, we will draw up a personalised transfer plan with the various stations you will pass through during your apprenticeship. At the hotel, you will familiarise yourself with all areas and positions relevant to your apprenticeship and will be thoroughly and conscientiously trained by us. Current topics, such as digitalisation and sustainability, will also be addressed during your apprenticeship so that you are well prepared for the future. The theoretical part takes place in block courses on the neighbouring island of Sylt. Accommodation is of course provided during your time at vocational school. This means you can relax and prepare for all upcoming exams and projects with a wonderful view.
With us, you will gain exciting insights into all areas of specialisation in the hotel. From designing and caring for the rooms in housekeeping, to preparing a cappuccino on the portafilter machine and serving your favourite dishes, you will accompany guests at all stations between check-in and check-out with a beaming smile.
But you won't just learn the basics with us, you'll also keep an eye on all departmental interfaces and acquire the skills you need to manage these areas. To this end, you will also take a look behind the scenes and gain insights into accounting, marketing, F&B management and HR work. At the end of your training, you will be well prepared to master all situations in the hotel and understand the background. We take a lot of time for you along the way, support and encourage you individually so that you have an unforgettable and wonderful time at the North Sea and can go your own way with confidence.
As a restaurant and event catering specialist (m/f/d), you will learn all the skills required for perfect service in front of and behind the scenes and gain an insight into the areas of our two restaurants bi a wik and sydbar. You will deepen your knowledge of drinks and merchandise and gain experience at our hotel bar hygge: here you will not only learn everything about coffee and tea, but of course also learn how to mix the most delicious cocktails.
Assignments in F&B administration will round off your knowledge. To familiarise yourself with the importance of service in the overall hotel context, you will also spend time in housekeeping and at the hotel reception. You will provide our guests with an unforgettable holiday experience through your warm and competent service - this also includes insights into the conception, organisation and follow-up of events and functions, such as birthdays or weddings!
As a chef, you will enchant our guests with lovingly cooked dishes prepared with finesse. With us, you will learn the basic techniques of cooking, ordering and costing, demonstrate your skills in the show kitchen, learn how to put together varied and sophisticated dishes and menus for our restaurant bi a wik and gain experience in the creative and international à la carte cuisine of the sydbar. But you will also get to know the other side.
A short excursion into the world of service will help you to understand connections and get to know the guests. We also address current topics and prepare you for changing eating habits and trends. As a culinary expert, you will learn to combine the craft and art of the profession and thus understand how to create your own flavour.
Not only your professional training, but also your personal development is very important to us. To this end, we have thought of a few things for you. At the five trainee compass meetings, you will not only meet trainees from other companies - you will also get to know yourself better. We will work with you to discover your individual strengths, support you in the things you love and accompany you on your personal journey.
Even if you are not (yet) an islander, we warmly welcome you to Föhr. We have three modern staff houses close to the beach and hotel, where you will have a fully furnished staff room in a shared flat for two and can create your own realm for the duration of your training. So you can arrive in peace and quiet and concentrate on your training!
