Traditional walk around the island

Ascension Day, 29 May 2025

It's that time again: 38 kilometres around the island. We are once again following an old island tradition and hiking a piece of Föhr history together. Who's coming along?

Spend time together, hike around the island - or just part of it - celebrate Father's Day in a different way, get into conversation with Föhrers, experience the island's nature intensively or chat with other holiday guests on a long walk - whether as a family, with friends or colleagues. Taking part is everything: everyone at their own pace! For the second time, "rundFöhr" will not be charging entry fees. Instead, the initiators and partners are delighted to receive donations in favour of the German Depression Aid Foundation - supported by Föhr enthusiast and patron Harald Schmidt.

Along the route, participants can look forward to culinary treats for refreshment at two stops along the route. An open-air exhibition by the MKdW is also planned as an art experience. At the end of "rundFöhr", there will be a cold drink and bratwurst on the düün'deck of the Upstalsboom Hotel on the south beach. Each participant receives a certificate for the kilometres walked.

Starting point: stattbar, Westerstraße 1a, 25938 Wyk auf Föhr
Start time: 7 am, with water, provisions & good shoes
Finish: düün'deck, Upstalsboom Wyk auf Föhr (approx. around 3 pm)

No entry fee, we ask for a donation in favour of the "German Depression Aid Foundation"
Donation account IBAN: DE37 3702 0500 0003 4742 00, BIC: BFSWDE33XXX

All about mutual connection, enjoyment and working together for a good cause: "rundFöhr" combines the tradition of hiking together on Father's Day with a commitment to mental health. After all, consciously walking in nature not only promotes physical health, but also mental health - a central concern of the "Stiftung Deutsche Depressionshilfe" (German Depression Aid Foundation). The German Depression Aid Foundation has been working to improve the situation of people suffering from depression since 2008. As patron, Harald Schmidt supports the foundation in its aim to improve the situation of people suffering from depression. With events such as the Patient Congress on Depression and the podcast "Raus aus der Depression" (Out of Depression), he helps to bring the topic of depression out of the taboo zone.
