The Wadden Sea has been officially protected by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage Site since 2009 – and for good reason: the Wadden Sea is unique and diverse on a global scale. More than 10,000 animal and plant species live in this unique habitat. 250 of these are found only in the Wadden Sea and nowhere else in the world. Sea scorpions and lugworms can be marvelled at here, as can mussels and shore crabs.

The "Medicleantec Micro Cleaner" has been revolutionising our housekeeping since April 2023. The devices clean with dry water vapour heated to 179 degrees, reducing bacteria, viruses and germs by 99%. This means we no longer need to use any chemicals for cleaning and therefore no plastic containers with cleaning agents. Perfect for our guests, healthy for our housekeeping team and gentle on our furniture and surfaces.

In December 2024, we were officially accepted by the GreenSign Institute as a new member of the sustainably certified hotels in Germany! Our hotel has set a strong example with a great deal of commitment in the areas of environmental protection, social responsibility and economic sustainability, scoring 81 per cent of the criteria in the first "GreenSign Hotel Audit".
